VERONA, Wis. -- Rain continues to hamper play at the Badger Invitational, which for the second day in a row, had its scheduled round suspended due to poor weather conditions. As a result, the second round will resume at 9 a.m. Sunday and the third round will not be played as some teams have travel obligations that cannot be changed.
The Wildcats stand in third place, unofficially. After Saturday's action, only the first-round results count and determine official standings. Northwestern was fourth through the first 18 holes.
Northwestern is presently 40-over and in third place, 25 strokes behind Michigan State. NU's Mary Ellen Grzebien is in seventh place at 6-over.
