EVANSTON, Ill. - Junior Courtney Koester (Richmond, Ind./Richmond) was named to the Warrior/Inside Lacrosse All-America Third Team. The All-America teams were named Tuesday afternoon by the leading publication in the sport of lacrosse.
Koester -- who was also a first-team All-ALC pick in just her second year playing the sport -- led the Wildcats this season in draw controls (45, which was 21 more than anyone else on the team) and ground balls (38), and tied for the team lead with 13 caused turnovers. She was also an offensive threat, finishing second on the team with 18 goals and fourth with 21 points. She had four multiple-goal games this year, highlighted by a four-goal outburst in NU's ALC opener against Ohio, a 13-9 win.
Koester helped lead the Wildcats to an 8-8 record in just their second year back as a varsity. In addition, NU went 2-4 in the American Lacrosse Conference for the second straight season.
