EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern baseball team may have put away their winter coats for the weekend, but instead of lacing up the spikes and hitting the field they are scrambling for raincoats as inclement weather has caused the cancellation of today's season opener against BYU. The Wildcats and Cougars were scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Papago Park #3 in Phoenix, Ariz.
With a couple of inches of rain already on the ground and more predicted for the future, tournament officials are scrambling to reschedule games for the rest of the weekend. As of 12 p.m. on Thursday, Northwestern's schedule is as follows:
Friday Feb. 14
3 p.m. vs. Missouri (Municipal Field)
7 p.m. vs. Cal Poly (Papago Park)
Saturday Feb. 15
10 a.m. vs. Cal Poly (Papago Park)
2 p.m. vs. BYU (Papago Park)
Sunday Feb. 16
9 a.m. vs. Missouri (Municipal Field)
Scheduling for the Rawlings/Oakland A's Spring Training Tournament is subject to change. Check NUsports.com for any changes that might occur.
