EVANSTON, Ill.--Ken Kraft, tournament director for the Midlands Wrestling Championships, today announced the pre-tournament seeds for the 41st tournament, which will be held Dec. 29-30 at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

"The seeds give an early indication as to how close early favorites Iowa and Iowa State will be in this year's competition," said Kraft. "However, the Hawkeyes and Cyclones will face a tough challenge from Hofstra, Cornell and Illinois, with Ohio State, Penn State and Penn close behind."

The pre-tournament seeds are as follows:
