Northwestern Names Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Vedran Vukusic (Split, Croatia/Medical) and Samantha McComb (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.
Vukusic, a sophomore on the men's basketball team, has scored in double figures in all four of Northwestern's games this season, including both of last week's contests. Against DePaul he was one of two NU players to reach double digits, with 16 points. In the win over Northwestern (La.) State Saturday, Vukusic filled the box score with 12 points.
Vukusic also had a team-high and career-high seven rebounds against Northwestern State.
McComb, a junior on the women's basketball team, had a career-high 22 points in Northwestern's 49-47 win at Dayton last week. The Wildcat co-captain grabbed six rebounds and was 8-of-9 from the foul line, sinking two free throws with less than 30 seconds remaining to secure NU's lead and first road win this season.
The guard leads the Wildcats in points per game (13.5) and minutes per game (34.7).
