Wildcats Trail Host Boilermakers After Day Two of Purdue Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - After the second day of competition at the Purdue Invitational, Northwestern trails only the host Boilermakers. Purdue leads the Wildcats 521-456.5. Freshman Matt Grevers broke the Purdue pool record in the 100 back, finishing with a time of 47.64.
Grevers swam the lead leg of the Wildcats' 200 medley relay team that finished first with a time of 1:30.70.
The 'Cats picked up a first-place finish in another relay, winning the 800 free relay with a time of 6:40.70.
Senior Tony Swanson won the 100 butterfly event with a time of 48.26. The 'Cats placed three swimmers in the top four in the event with Mark Hamming finishing third and Grevers placing fourth.
NU will look to jump ahead of the Boilermakers tomorrow in the third and final day of the Purdue Invitational.
