EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has named Noah Herron (Mattawan, Mich./Mattawan), Cristelle Grier (Surrey, England/Putney) and Jessica Rush (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week.

Herron--getting most of Northwestern's rushing attempts with Jason Wright (Diamond Bar, Calif./Diamond Bar) hobbled with a sore ankle--ran for a career-high 180 yards against Penn State on a career-best 35 carries.

Herron also helped NU secure just its second win over the Nittany Lions, the first coming during its 1995 Big Ten championship season. Northwestern totaled 253 rushing yards against Penn State.

Grier and Rush made history as the first Big Ten team to win the ITA National Indoor Championships doubles title after they topped UCLA's Jackie Carleton and Lauren Fisher 8-6 in the final.

The Wildcat duo, who improve to 13-1 as a pair this season, had earned a bid as the No. 2 seed to the four-day tournament in East Lansing, Mich. by winning the ITA Midwest Championships doubles title last week.
