Wildcats End Up Sixth at Shoot-out at the Legends

FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Two of Northwestern's three newcomers, freshmen Kelly Robb (Concord, Mass./Middlesex School) and Alice Kim (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood), led the Wildcats to a sixth-place finish Tuesday at the 18-team Shoot-out at the Legends.
Kent State held off Indiana for the team title, defeating the Hoosiers by two strokes. Northwestern finished with a 36-over 900 (302-293-305), 23 strokes behind the Golden Flashes. Indiana's Karen Dennison fired a 3-under 69 on Tuesday to come from behind and win the individual title.
Robb shot a 4-over 76 in the final round to finish 15th overall at 5-over (70-75-76=221). Kim, who had the Wildcats' best third-round score with an even-par 72, placed 20th at 7-over (78-73-72).
Junior Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) finished 42nd at 14-over (78-71-81=230), while senior Lauren Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) and junior Mary Ellen Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) were 52nd and 56th, respectively. Lauren shot a 17-over 233 (76-80-77) while younger sister Mary Ellen had an 18-over 234 (80-74-80).
The Wildcats wrap up their fall season in two weeks at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.
