NU Names Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern has named its Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week. Sherri-Anne Nyberg (Kelowna, B.C./Kelowna Secondary), a freshman goalkeeper for the NU field hockey team, is the female selection and classmate Will Nicholas (Orefield, Pa./Parkland), a defender for the Wildcats' men's soccer team, is the male choice.
Nyberg made seven saves in the Wildcats' 2-0 win over Stanford. Nyberg recorded the first shutout of her young career as Northwestern snapped a three-game skid against the Cardinal. Nyberg, who has turned heads with her acrobatic saves, has tallied 61 stops on the year.
Nicholas, meanwhile, had breakout performances for the Wildcats against Penn State and Duke. He tallied his first collegiate goal in the 3-1 loss to the Nittany Lions. Nicholas put the 'Cats up 1-0 against the Blue Devils when he headed a pass from Gerardo Alvarez into the back of the net. As a defender, Nicholas has been instrumental in NU's early-season success.
