EVANSTON, Ill. -- Kristi Roemer (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) defeated teammate Connie Chiang (Oshkosh, Wis./Oshkosh West) 6-4, 6-3 in the third flight singles' main draw championship for one of three titles Northwestern won in the Wildcat Invitational at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center.

The doubles team of Alexis Prousis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) and Jamie Peisel (Savannah, Ga./Savannah Country Day) edged Wisconsin's Lindsay Martin and Katie McGaffigan 8-6 to win the purple double's main draw, while the duo of Chiang and Andrea Yung (San Marino, Calif./San Marino) routed Western Michigan's Carrie Jeanmaire and Reedhina Parekh 8-0 to claim the white doubles' main draw championship.

Roemer took down Eastern Michigan's Jessica Loose 6-4, 6-1 in the semifinals to set up a match with Chiang, who beat Western Michigan's Rattiya Hiranrat 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. The only other time this season the two Wildcats were in the same match was when they paired up in doubles and made the quarterfinals of the Cissie Leary Invitational in September.

The Wildcat Invitational was one of two separate matches for NU; the other half of the split-squad competed in the Riviera/ITA Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
