IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Senior Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) led Northwestern's women's golf team for the second time this week, placing sixth at the Lady Northern, which was held at Iowa's Finkbine Golf Course. Behind Burden, the Wildcats placed seventh among the 12 teams.
Burden finished 13th earlier this week at the Mason Rudolph Invitational. This weekend, she fired a 76-72-76 for the three rounds to place in a four-way tie for sixth. Penn State's Katie Futcher shot an 8-under 211 to win the tournament by seven strokes.
Sophomore Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) placed 27th with a 14-over 233 (81-77-75).
Kent State won the team championship, shooting a 19-over 895, and finished three strokes ahead of Penn State and Indiana.
