Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Rudolph Championships

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Northwestern's women's golf team opened its season with a 10th-place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championships. The 'Cats finished with a 931 team score at the 54-hole event. Host Vanderbilt won the 14-team tournament with a 13-over-par 878.
NU improved during each of the tournament's three rounds, shooting a 22-over-par 306 during Tuesday's final round at the par-72 Legends Club of Tennessee.
Senior Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) led NU, finishing 13th individually. Burden fired two consecutive rounds of 74 to close out the tournament.
Fellow senior Erin Breslin (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) shot a career-low 78 in Monday's second round, only to better that mark with a 77 in Tuesday's final round.
The 'Cats have just three days off before heading to Iowa City, Iowa for the Lady Northern this coming Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29. NU posted its best 2001-02 team finish at last season's Lady Northern, placing second out of 14 teams.
