Marine Piriou Begins NCAA Singles Play Today

STANFORD, Calif. - Northwestern women's tennis player Marine Piriou begins individual play at the NCAA Championships today in Stanford, Calif. Piriou's match was originally scheduled for Monday, May 20, but rain postponed the competition until today.

Piriou, who played No. 1 for the Wildcats all season and is ranked 33rd in the nation, will face Alesya Ignatieva of Mississippi in the first round of singles competition at 10 a.m.(CDT).

Piriou owns a 29-15 overall record, and is making her first NCAA singles appearance.
