EVANSTON, Ill. -

For the second straight week, the basketball programs swept the Hilton Garden Inn Athlete of the Week honors. T.J.Parker (Lisle, Ill./Lisle) of the men's team and Sarah Kwasinski (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) of the women's team earned the accolades for their athletic performance from the week of Dec. 2.

Parker capped off a superb week by scoring the final two points in NU's 62-60 win over Bowling Green. Parker went the length of the floor and sliced through the Falcon defense to score the game-winning layup with just 7 seconds to play. Parker ended the game with 15 points to lead all Wildcat scorers. He also collected six steals, which was the most by an NU player since Collier Drayton had six against Minnesota on Feb. 6, 2001. In Wednesday's loss at N.C. State, Parker scored 10 points, dished out two assists and had two more thefts.

Sophomore center Kwasinski nabbed tournament MVP honors, averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game as Northwestern won the 19th Annual Mildred & Roger L. White Invitational over the weekend. In the semifinal game, Kwasinski recorded her sixth career double-double, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds. In the championship game, she tallied 16 points and four steals. Kwasinski also blocked four shots in the two games, moving her into sole possession of sixth place on NU's career blocked shots list with 63. Kwasinski has scored in double digits in 13 straight games.
