Rachel Evjen is Big Ten Runner of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern junior Rachel Evjen (Eau Claire, Wis./North) was named the Big Ten's Female Cross Country Runner of the Week for her victory at the Bradley Open on September 7. The announcement was made Wednesday evening.
Evjen clocked 17:41 over Bradley's 5-kilometer course to take a five-second victory over Marquette's Susan Barth. It was the second meet title for Evjen in her career, and allowed her to avenge a loss to Barth in this race a year ago.
Thanks to Evjen's efforts, Northwestern finished second out of 10 teams in the event. The Wildcats scored 39 points and finished just 10 points behind 15th-ranked Marquette.
Last year, Evjen was Northwestern's top finisher in every race in which she ran.
