EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern volleyball team kicks off the 2001 season this weekend at the Deacon Invitational hosted by Wake Forest.

After undergoing preseason two-a-day practices for nearly three weeks, the `Cats travel to Winson-Salem, N.C. for a round-robin tournament with the host Demon Deacons, Mississippi State and East Carolina.

Notes and match releases will be available on Northwestern's athletic website, www.nusports.com.
