Claire Pollard Named Midwest Region Coach of the Year

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern women's tennis coach Claire Pollard has been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as the Wilson/ITA Midwest Region Coach of the Year.
Pollard led the Wildcats to their third straight Big Ten title and 12th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance this season. Under her tutelage, the Wildcats have compiled a 67-15 record in three years and lost just three Big Ten matches. This season, the women's tennis team rolled to a 10-0 regular-season record and then swept through the Big Ten Championships.
Northwestern ended the 2000-01 season ranked ninth in the nation in the final WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis poll. The ranking is the highest in the history of the program.
