EVANSTON, Ill. - Senior Colleen Cheng and junior Lia Jackson were named to the All-Big Ten Women's Tennis Team, while head coach Claire Pollard was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year. The announcement was made Thursday by the Big Ten Conference office.

Cheng finished the season with a 29-12 record, including a 17-7 dual mark playing at No. 1 (15-6) and No. 2 (2-1). Jackson, meanwhile, followed up on a record-breaking campaign in 1999-2000 with a 31-11 record this year, 18-7 in dual matches (2-1 at No. 1, 16-6 at No. 2). Cheng went 10-1 in Big Ten play this year, tournament included, while Jackson went 9-3.

Under Pollard's direction, the Wildcats went 22-4 this year and won both the Big Ten regular-season and tournament titles. The tourney title was NU's third straight, keeping Pollard's unbeaten record intact in that event. As a result, Northwestern will host an NCAA regional May 12-13 in Evanston.
