Emily Gilley earned her third consecutive All-Big Ten honor

Two Women's Golfers Named All-Big Ten

EVANSTON, Ill. - Junior Emily Gilley and sophomore Elizabeth Burden have been named to the 2001 Women's Golf All-Big Ten team as announced by the Big Ten Conference. This is Gilley's third conference honor and Burden's second.

Gilley leads the `Cats with a 76.66 stroke average in 32 rounds. She placed second at the Central District Classic and the USF/Waterlefe Invitational. Gilley has been the Wildcats' top finisher in three events this season, and broke the school record for low individual round at the "Mo" Morial when she carded a second-round 69. A native of Flossmoor, Ill., Gilley is enrolled in the School of Speech.

Burden has paced the `Cats in four tournaments this year and has finished outside the top 25 only once. She is second on the team in stroke average at 76.75 for 32 rounds. Her best finish came at the Central District Classic where she placed fourth. Burden is a native of Lake Bluff, Ill., and is enrolled in the Weinberg College of Arts and Science.
