Softball Falls to Wisconsin, 4-0

EVANSTON, Ill. -
The Northwestern softball team fell to Wisconsin in conference action on Sunday, 4-0. The Badgers scored one run in the bottom of the first inning and three runs in the fifth.
Northwestern had three hits on the day. Sophomore Brett Nakabayashi (Irvine, Calif./Irvine) singled to right field in the first inning, freshman Carri Leto (El Cajon, Calif./Valhalla) singled to center field in the third inning, and junior Gretchen Barnes (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) singled to right field in the fourth inning.
Sophomore Lauren Schwendimann (Tustin, Calif./Foothill) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out five. Sophomore Brie Brown (Nashville, Tenn./Harputh Hall) pitched the final 1.2 innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.
Northwestern's record falls to 13-15 overall, 4-4 in conference action. The `Cats travel to the University of Illinois-Chicago for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
