EVANSTON, Ill. - The 10th-ranked Northwestern women's tennis team defeated Minnesota, 6-1, Friday night in Minneapolis. With the win, the Wildcats improved to 16-4 on the season and 7-0 in the Big Ten. Minnesota fell to 11-5 overall and 3-4 in the conference.

Northwestern got off to a quick and easy start, sweeping doubles for the first point, then kept up the pace by winning five of the six singles matches to complete the match.

The 'Cats are back in action on Sunday, traveling to Wisconsin. Match time is slated for 11 a.m.
