Northwestern Names Athletes of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University has chosen its athletes of the week for the week of February 5. The selections were made based on athletic competition from January 29-February 4.

MALE -- Adam Barker, Diving
The freshman posted a victory in the 3-meter dive against Nebraska and 12th-ranked Georgia over the weekend in Lincoln, Neb. His score of 492.60 points was enough to qualify him for the NCAA diving zones in March.

FEMALE -- Tami Sears, Basketball
The senior forward recorded her second double-double of the season against 25th-ranked Wisconsin on Thursday night (13 points, 10 rebounds), then had 10 points and five boards as the Wildcats nearly knocked off No. 15 Penn State Sunday. She is currently averaging 8.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. She ranks 19th in the Big Ten in rebounding.
