Women's Tennis Sweeps Michigan State, 7-0

EVANSTON, Ill. - The 11th-ranked Northwestern women's tennis team easily defeated the Michigan State Spartans, 7-0, today at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility in East Lansing. The Wildcats won all six singles matches in straight sets. Northwestern improves to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten action. The Spartans slide to 4-5 (0-1 Big Ten).
Northwestern opened the match with a sweep of doubles to take the 1-0 lead, and never let up, winning all six singles matches. Junior Lia Jackson, who is currently ranked No.53, defeated MSU's Natasha Skagerboe, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1.
The 'Cats will meet No. 56 Michigan Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor. Match time is set for 11 a.m. (CDT).
