A four-run third inning proved to be too much for the `Cats to respond. Northwestern falls to 5-5 on the year while SW Missouri State improved to 3-2.

Senior Joe Hietpas hit safely in his third straight game, while sophomore Eric Roeder rounded out the Wildcat offense with one hit of his own.

On the mound, junior Gabe Ribas had to battle a strong wind, as he went five complete innings giving up five runs on seven hits while striking out three. He ran his strikeout total to 18 against one walk. Junior lefthander, Ryan Bos pitched the sixth and seventh innings, giving up two runs (none earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking two.
