Women's Basketball Gets Set For First Exhibition

EVANSTON, Ill. - Head coach June Olkowski will unveil her team for the first time Tuesday night at 7 p.m., when the Northwestern women's basketball team takes on the Chicago Challengers in the first of two exhibitions for the Wildcats.
Northwestern returns several letterwinners from a year ago, headlined by honorable mention All-Big Ten pick Emily Butler. The junior guard from Greenwood, Ind., led the Wildcats last year with 12.7 points per game, scoring double-figure totals 15 times. She also averaged 2.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. Other returnees to watch include Leslie Dolland (7.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg in 2000-01), Ashley Messenger (3.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg) and Natalie Will (6.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg).
In addition, six newcomers dot the roster, including highly touted freshman Sarah Kwasinski.
The Wildcat women's hoop team will also be in action next Tuesday, Nov. 13, taking on RTU Clondaika of Latvia. Tipoff for that game will also be 7 p.m.
