EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern hits the road for the first time this season, trekking to Miami to take on the Hurricanes and then compete in the Florida International Thanksgiving Classic. NU heads to the Sunshine State after dropping its season opener Sunday to Northern Illinois, 68-63.

Junior guard Emily Butler (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) led the way against the Huskies, with a game-high 18 points and five steals. Butler led the team in scoring a year ago, averaging 12.7 points per game, and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection.

Miami and NU are meeting for just the second time. The Wildcats beat the Hurricanes 56-48 a year ago in Evanston. NU had three players score in double figures in that game, led by junior center Leslie Dolland's (Bloomington, Minn./The Blake School) 13 points. Junior Nicole Daniels (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with four points. Miami's leading scorer was Shelia James, who had a game-high 18 points and four steals.

After taking on the Hurricanes, NU turns around to play two games during the weekend, starting with Florida International on Friday at FIU's Golden Panther Arena. On Saturday, NU competes against Monmouth at 5 p.m.
