Welsh-Ryan Floor Undergoing Renovations...Again

EVANSTON, Ill. - Due to the heavy flooding that occurred on campus on August 2, the hardwood floor of Welsh-Ryan Arena will undergo repairs during the month of October. The floor was affected by water that seeped into McGaw Hall during the flooding.

It is scheduled to be re-opened November 1, in time for the basketball seasons. However, the Wildcat women's volleyball team will now play all of its home matches on the back court of Welsh-Ryan until November 1. Temporary bleachers will be brought in for the upcoming matches, and all ticket information remains the same.

Ironically, the floor that is being repaired in Welsh-Ryan was a brand new one-Northwestern had put a new floor in immediately following the basketball season last year, and it had been in place since mid-May.
