Women's Basketball Loses to Iowa, 92-52

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Iowa Hawkeyes (10-8, 5-3 Big Ten) defeated Northwestern (4-14, 0-8 Big Ten) 92-52 in women's basketball action Thursday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Iowa had four players in double figures led by senior guard Mary Berdo with 21 points. Berdo was perfect from the field, hitting 5-of-5 from three-point range. She also had six assists. As a team, the Hawkeyes shot 58 percent from the floor compared to NU's 33 percent.
Sophomore guard Emily Butler led the Wildcats with 13 points. Senior center Tami Sears added 12 and nine boards.
Iowa senior guard Cara Consuegra scored her 1,000 career point ending with six points on the night.
The women are back in action Sunday at Michigan. Tip time in Ann Arbor is scheduled for 2 p.m.
