Cross Country Finishes 11th at Roy Griak Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University women's cross country team finished 11th of 29 teams at the 16th annual Roy Griak Invitational meet on Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis. The Wildcats scored 281 points. Host Minnesota won the meet with 98 points.
For the third time in three meets, sophomore Rachel Evjen was the top 'Cat. She completed the 6-kilometer course in 21:47, good for 22nd overall. Laura Evans was also a Top 50 finisher, taking 49th in 22:10.
Emily Blakeslee (58th/22:21), Nicole Kuznia (73rd/22:32) and Karen Rogers (79th/22:37) also scored for the Wildcats. Nora Colligan (96th/22:47) and Jennifer Anderson (106th/22:55) were the Wildcats' other runners.
The individual title was won by Arizona's Tara Chaplin, who ran the course in 21 minutes flat to win by eight seconds.
Northwestern will be back in action next Saturday at the Lakefront Invitational in Chicago.
