Women's Golf Finishes Third at GTE "Mo"morial

EVANSTON, Ill - The Northwestern women's golf team finished third at this weekend's GTE "Mo"morial golf invitational in Houston, Texas. The tournament took place at the par 72 (6,119-yard) Pine Forest country club and was hosted by Texas A&M. NU shot rounds of 309-314-310 for a total of 933 to finish five strokes behind tournament winner Missouri.
Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) was the individual champion, shooting rounds of 74-77-73 for a total of 224, to win by three strokes over Kristen MacLaren of Texas El-Paso. Gilley's final round 73 was the best final round score of the day. Along with Gilley, junior Christie Hermes (Dixon, Ill./Newman Central) and senior Colleen Kiely (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) finished tied for 16th as the `Cats went from fourth to third place in the final round.
