Women's Volleyball Signs Five To Letters of Intent

EVANSTON, Ill. - Head coach Kevin Renshler announced today the signing of five high school seniors to National Letters of Intent to play volleyball at Northwestern beginning in the fall of 2000:
Jill Buschur (Middle Blocker, 6-1, New Bremen, Ohio/New Bremen)
Leah Delcourt (Middle Blocker, 6-1, Rock Island, Ill./Rock Island)
Molly Kamp (Outside Hitter, 6-0, Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore)
Erika Lange (Middle Blocker, 6-3. Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sanburg)
Lindsey Pavlik (Outside Hitter, 6-0, Laguna Beach, Calif./Mater Dei)
"This is a very good recruiting class for us," Renshler said. "The class of 2000 complements the returning players in our program to make us more competitive within our conference and on the national level. They have proven themselves in the classroom and on the court, and should continue to excel at this level."
JILL BUSCHUR was twice named first-team Midwest Athletic Conference and a second-team All-Ohio nominee. She was named to the All-Ohio all-star team during her senior year. She is a first-team District Eight honoree and a member of the District Eight all-star team. A three-time Most Valuable Offensive Player for New Bremen, Buschur helped lead her team to a district championship and a second-place finish in the Regional Championships as a sophomore. In addition to volleyball, Buschur was the area's leading scorer in basketball and earned first-team MAC honors her junior year. She finished fourth in the high jump at the Ohio state track and field championships as a sophomore. Buschur is a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Thomas and Carol Buschur. High school coach was Lisa Thobe and her club team is New Knoxville.
LEAH DELCOURT is a three-time all-metro and three-time all-conference honoree. She was named to the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) all-tournament team in 1999 and earned all-state special mention honors. Delcourt finished first in the Western Big Six Conference in kills and blocks, tallying 322 kills and 90 blocks during her senior campaign. She finished her high school career with 892 kills and 225 blocks to set new Rock Island records. For her work in the classroom, Delcourt was named to the Western Big Six Academic Team. She is a member of the Davenport Juniors club team. Delcourt is the daughter of Paul and Roxanne. Her high school coach was Mike Mickelson.
MOLLY KAMP is in the middle of her volleyball season at Lakeshore High School and is currently the team captain. She is a two-time all-conference and all-region honoree. Kamp was named voted first-team all-state her junior year and third-team as a sophomore. She has also excelled in basketball, earning all-conference honors and all-state special mention accolades. She was named to the Associated Press All-State team and Michigan Class B all-star team. Off the court, Kamp is a member of the National Honor Society, earned Class B academic all-state, and was a Michigan High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete finalist. Kamp is a member of the Dead Frogs club team and her high school coach was Shelly Baker. She is the daughter of Don and Diana Kamp.
ERIKA LANGE, one of the most highly-touted players in Illinois, helped lead her Carl Sandburg high school team to its first-ever state championship during her junior year. She is a three-time all-conference honoree, was twice named to the Daily Southtown's All-Area team and was voted to the Chicago Sun-Times All-Area team her senior year. She was voted first-team all-state her senior year by the Chicago Tribune and Champaign News-Gazette. Lange was named to the all-tournament team at the Nike Challenge and named to the all-tournament team of the Rich East Tournament. She is a special-mention all-state honoree and voted to the Super Squad by the magazine Blocks n' Kills. Lange is a scholar athlete and is a member of the Chicago Juniors club team. Her high school coach was Joanna Holverson. She is the daughter of Richard and Gayle Lange.
LINDSAY PAVLIK earned Mater Dei team MVP and Orange County Athletic Directors Association League MVP after a stellar senior season. She is a two-time South Coast League MVP and was named the South Coast Athlete of the Year her junior year. Pavlik is a first-team all-county honoree and a two-time first-team All-California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) member. In addition, she is a two-time Durango Invitational All-Tournament team selection. The four year honor student is a member of the Orange County Nike club team. She is a first-team South Coast League honoree in basketball and was named to the Los Angeles Times second-team. Pavlik's high school coach was Craig Pazani. She is the daughter of Tom and Debi Pavlik.
