Northwestern Names Athletes of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern University has named its Athletes of the Week for October 23. The selections were made based on athletic action from October 16-22.

MALE -- PAUL ELKINS, SOCCER
Sophomore Paul Elkins (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) scored Northwestern's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Valparaiso University at Lakeside Field Friday afternoon. Elkins is second on the team in scoring, behind leader Jun Kim (12 points). Elkins has scored one goal and three assists this season, totaling five points.

FEMALE -- LINDSAY WRIGHT, FIELD HOCKEY
Senior Lindsay Wright (St. Catherines, Ont./Ridley College) recorded her first career hat trick in a 7-0 win against Indiana University Friday afternoon at Lakeside Field. Her three goals give her five for the season. She is third on the team in overall points (10 pts.) and is NU's second leading scorer in conference play (four goals). Wright also led the team in shots on goal (three) in a 1-0 loss to Iowa Sunday afternoon.
