ABOUT NORTHWESTERN (6-11, 3-4 Big Ten)
Northwestern gave an excellent account of itself on Sunday afternoon, but 13th-ranked Illinois had too many weapons in the end and defeated the Wildcats, 82-65. Northwestern had several sterling performances, particularly Leslie Dolland who came up with 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds -- her second consecutive double-double -- to go with six assists. Tami Sears had 10 points and 12 boards, while Leslie Schock led the way with 18 points. Emily Butler had 10 points and six assists. Earlier in the week, the Wildcats defeated Minnesota in Minneapolis, 50-44. Dana Leonard and Butler led the way with 12 points apiece, while Dolland contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.

ABOUT INDIANA (9-8, 2-5 Big Ten)
The Hoosiers took No. 19 Purdue to the wire on Sunday, losing 71-65 in OT. Four Indiana players scored in double figures, led by Rainey Alting's 17 points. Heather Cassidy tallied 16 points, three rebounds and seven assists for Indiana. Cassidy has scored in double figures in 16 of 18 games, including the last eight straight.

Northwestern leads Indiana, 26-18, in a series that began during the 1977 season. Northwestern fell to the Hoosiers when they met on Jan. 16 in Bloomington, 77-53.
