ABOUT NORTHWESTERN (5-8, 2-1 Big Ten)
Northwestern plays host to Wisconsin tonight, and is looking to continue its momentum after wins over Michigan State and Iowa in its last two outings. The Wildcats are 5-8, 2-1 in the Big Ten after defeating the Hawkeyes on Sunday afternoon, 53-52, in a thriller. Junior guard Dana Leonard came off the bench to spark NU to a 2-0 week. She had 12 points against Iowa and 10 points versus Michigan State. Northwestern is led by Tami Sears, who averages 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
ABOUT WISCONSIN (6-6, 0-3 Big Ten)
The Badgers are coming off a 75-61 loss to Michigan State. Wisconsin is 6-6 and 0-3 in the Big Ten. LaTonya Sims tabbed her first double-double of the season with a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds. Earlier in the week, Sims tabbed 22 points and nine boards in a win over Loyola-Chicago. For the week she averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES
Northwestern leads Wisconsin, 27-12, in a series that began during the 1976-77 season. Last year the Badgers won the only meeting between the teams, 80-61, in Madison. The last time NU defeated the Badgers was Feb. 2, 1997, with a 93-62 win in Evanston.

Dana Leonard had a pair of double-figure scoring games this week to lead the Wildcats to a pair of Big Ten wins. Against Michigan State, she scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds, and then on Sunday she had a team-high 12 points and five assists against Iowa. Among her 12 points were a pair of free throws in the final minute that provided the winning points.
