EVANSTON, Ill - Northwestern extended its unbeaten streak to three games by scoring two late goals against Loyola-Chicago. Junior forward Jon Cantwell (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) notched his fifth goal of the year and extended his team scoring lead when he finished a shot by senior defender Aaron Stolberg (Bloomington, Ind./South) to put the Wildcats ahead. Seven minutes later, sophomore forward Jun Kim (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) scored on a breakaway pass from junior midfielder Trevor Nelson (Dublin, Ohio/Columbus Academy).
The game was highlighted by remarkable goaltending from both sides. For Northwestern, junior Matt Keeler (Portage, Mich./Portage Northern) had several big saves, completing his third shutout and lowering his goals against average to 1.07 goals/game. Next match Friday, October 9, 4 p.m. vs. Penn State.
