Women's Golf in Third Place at Midwest Classic

DFW Airport, Texas - Minnesota leads the Midwest Classic after the first of two rounds. In windy conditions with gusts of 30 mph, the Gophers shot a 316 to lead second place Penn State by six shots. Northwestern, which is co-hosting the 13-team tournament at the Hyatt Bear Creek Golf Club with Minnesota, is tied for third place (325) with Wisconsin.

Illinois State's Suzanne Walker holds the individual lead, firing a 2-under par 70. Northwestern's Emily Gilley is eight shots back at 78. The tournament concludes on Sunday.
