Women's Cross Country Finishes Season at Midwest Region Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Freshmen Jennifer Anderson (Rockford, Ill./Auburn) and Cherisse Lancaster (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) capped off outstanding seasons by earning All-District honors after last weekendis cross country Midwest Region Championships in Wichita, Kan.

Anderson finished 14th out of 148 runners, finishing the 5,000 meter course in 17:46.90. Among the highlights this season for Anderson are first place finishes at the Lakefront Invitational and the three-way meet with Purdue and Illinois and a 12th place finish at the Big Ten Championships.

Lancaster, who also had a very impressive freshman campaign, finshed 17th in a time of 17:50.30. She was the runner-up to Anderson at the Lakefront Invitational, finished 10th at the Wolf and Kettle Invitational and 16th at the Big Ten Championships.
