Evanston, Ill. - Senior guard Megan Chawansky (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) brought her usual all-around game, this time with a season-high 26 points to help Northwestern upend Loyola-Chicago, 88-53, at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Chawansky and her teammates set the pace of the game early as the Wildcats came out running. They built early leads of 19-4 and 40-11, before settling for a 49-14 advantage at halftime. Chawansky was aided by backcourt mate Dana Leonard (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South), who, for the second-consecutive game, exploded for 15 first half points. The Ramblers would not be held down and thanks to the outside shooting of Ryan Johnson (8-of-17, 20 points) in the second half, Loyola-Chicago matched Northwestern's 39-point production in the second period. Chawansky was 10-of-19 from the field for the game. She finished with a game-high nine rebounds, passed out four assists and had three steals in the win.

Leonard scored a career-high 21 points on a 6-for-13 night, 4-for-8 from beyond the three-point arc.

The other player in double figures for Northwestern was junior forward Leslie Schock (Elgin, Ill./Elgin) who finished with 14 points, two above her average.

The Wildcats improve to 3-2 on the season. They will now gear up for the 15th annual Roger L. White Invitational. On Fri., Dec. 4, Maine and Western Kentucky meet in a 5 p.m. game at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Northwestern will battle Ohio beginning at 7 p.m. The consolation and championship contests will take place Sat., Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
