EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head women's basketball coach June Olkowski announced today the hiring of three assistant coaches to her staff. Teri Moren and Cleve Wright follow Olkowski from Butler, while Andrea Johnson brings local experience from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

"I am delighted with the staff we have in place," Olkowski said. "It is diverse, balanced and experienced, yet the common thread is our work ethic. All of us are eager to begin teaching, recruiting and whatever else needs to be done in order to build a championship program."

Moren spent the past six seasons as an assistant under Olkowski at Butler. She served as the recruiting coordinator and had additional responsibilities in scouting, on-court coaching and academic monitoring and scheduling. A 1992 graduate of Purdue, Moren was a four-year letterwinner for the Boilermakers. She was a member of the 1991 Big Ten championship squad and a participant in three NCAA Tournaments, including Purdue's Sweet Sixteen appearance in 1990. Moren ranks ninth on Purdue's all-time assist chart (275).

Wright comes to Northwestern after two seasons as an assistant at Butler, where he was responsible for the development of the perimeter players, recruiting, equipment and promotions. Prior to coaching at Butler, Wright spent four seasons as the head girl's basketball coach at Southwestern High School in Somerset, Ky.

Wright received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 from Berea College in Berea, Ky. He served as an assistant coach at his alma mater from 1986-89. He next moved on to a graduate assistantship at Ball State from 1990-92, where he also received his Master of Arts degree in physical education. The following season he served as an assistant at Duke (1992-93).

Johnson returns to coaching after a brief stint as director of ticket operations for the Chicago Condors of the American Basketball League. Prior to that position, she was assistant coach at her alma mater, the University of Illinois-Chicago, for four seasons. At UIC, Johnson had responsibilities in recruiting, on-court coaching, scouting, film exchange, academic monitoring and summer camp coordination. Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from UIC in 1994. She was a two-year member of the Flames' basketball team (1991-93).
