Wildcat Women Ranked No. 30, Men No. 33.

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's tennis team received a No. 30 national ranking and the men's team received a No. 33 ranking as announced today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). This was the first team ranking released by the ITA since Dec. 8, when the Wildcat women were No. 32 and the Wildcat men were No. 37.

Individually for the men, seniors Marc Silva (Telford, Pa./Pennridge) and Doug Bohaboy (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) were ranked No. 61 and No. 89, respectively. The doubles team of Bohaboy and junior Martin Bengtsson (Stockholm, Sweden/Brammkyrka) moved up 11 spots to garner the No. 21 doubles ranking.

On the women's side, junior Katherine Nasser (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) and senior Laura Guignon (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) found themselves in a three-way tie for No. 50 in doubles.

The Northwestern women's tennis team (6-3, 2-1 Big Ten) will next be in action on March 22 when it travels to Palo Alto, Calif. for two matches against Washington and Stanford.

The men's team is 4-5, 0-2 in the Big Ten and will participate in the Blue-Gray Classic in Montgomery, Ala. beginning on March 18.
