EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern junior right hander John Seaman (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) was selected by the Florida Marlins in the 16th round of Tuesday's major league baseball draft.
A first-team All-Big Ten selection this season, Seaman went 9-6 with a 3.07 ERA. His nine victories tied for second in the Big Ten while he finished fourth in ERA. Opponents hit just .240 off Seaman this year, third-best in the conference.
The draft continues on Wednesday and Thursday.
