Schara Pitches No-Hitter against Penn State

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's doubleheader sweep improved its record to .500 at 16-16, 6-6 in Big Ten play.
In game two, freshman right-hander Zach Schara (Madison, Wis./Madison West) threw a no-hitter for his first career complete game and shutout. NU's last no-hitter was pitched May 19, 1994, by Brad Niedermaier.
Junior center fielder Bob Dainton (Mokena, Ill./Lockport Township) was 2-for-3 in the second game with a triple. For Penn State, Dan Beers' 29th career home run, in game one set a new PSU record.
