EVANSTON, Ill. -- Due to a clerical error, the 1998 NCAA Graduation Report for Northwestern University was inaccurate. The 1991-92 graduation rate for student-athletes is 92%, not 85% as first reported in November. The four-class average was changed from 85% to 87%.

Student-athletes actually graduated at a higher rate than the general student body. The rate for all students at Northwestern during the same time frame was 90%.

The 92% graduation rate places Northwestern at the top of the Big Ten Conference and in the top 10 nationally. Only Xavier, Howard, UNC-Asheville (only six student-athletes), Harvard and Dartmouth had a higher graduation rate among their student-athletes than NU.
