Northwestern opened its second weekend of competition by dropping the first of a four-game set at Southwestern Louisiana. Junior center fielder Bob Dainton (Mokena, Ill./Lockport Township) went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base for the Wildcats. Senior Phil Rosengren (Barrington, Ill./Rye Country Day) threw seven innings in a losing effort, striking out nine.
