HONOLULU - Northwestern improved its Rainbow Easter Baseball Tournament record to 1-2 and broke a three-game losing streak on the strength of one of the its finest pitching performances of the year. Freshman Gabe Ribas (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) earned his first collegiate win, hurling a complete game without yielding an earned run. Northwestern's first seven batters all had hits, including sophomore J.J. Standring (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita), who extended his hitting streak to nine games.
