Baseball Falls to Nevada, 11-2

PHOENIX - Northwestern lost its second game in a row this afternoon, 11-2 to Nevada in the second day of the Oakland A's/Rawlings Tournament.

Senior Nevada outfield Lyle Overbay went 4-for-5, and his teammate, senior second baseman Justin Martin, scored three runs on three hits. Northwestern scored its two runs in the fourth inning, on a sacrifice fly by sophomore outfielder J.J. Standring (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita), and a single by junior outfielder Bob Dainton (Mokena, Ill./ Lockport Township). NU freshman starter Gabe Ribas (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) pitched five and one-third innings, giving up eight earned runs and striking out four. Nevada got its lead runner on in every inning it scored.

Northwestern plays Pacific tomorrow at 4 p.m. in its third of four games in Phoenix.
