Baseball Falls to Auburn, 6-2

Northwestern finished the 1999 Price Oil Blue Gray Classic with a 1-2 record after dropping its game this afternoon to No. 5 Auburn, 6-2. Sophomore shortstop Jeremy Kurella (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) hit his second home run in two games, knocking in NUs two fourth-inning runs. Senior pitcher Phil Rosengren (Barrington, Ill./Rye Country Day) pitched seven innings for the Wildcats, giving up three earned runs and striking out six.

NU will take a two-week end-of-semester break before travelling to Honolulu, Hawaii, to play in the Rainbow Easter Baseball Tournament beginning March 22.
