30 Wildcats Named Academic All-Big Ten

EVANSTON, Ill. - Thirty Northwestern student-athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the 1999 spring season.
Four members of Claire Pollard's Big Ten champion women's tennis team earned the award, as well as four members of Sharon Drysdale's softball team. Seven Northwestern fencers earned at-large selections.
Paul Stevens' baseball team had six honorees. Pat Goss' men's golf team, which finished No. 3 in the country, had two honorees. Chris Regenberg's women's golf team had five representatives.
Student-athletes must be letterwinners and in at least their second years at NU while carrying a minimum 3.0 grade point average to be named Academic All-Big Ten.
