24 Wildcats Named Academic All-Big Ten

EVANSTON, Ill. - Twenty-four Northwestern winter sports student-athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors during the 1998-99 winter season.
Jimmy Tierney's women's swimming and diving team had 10 honorees, including All-Americans Amy Balcerzak and Courtney Allen.
Tim Cysewski's wrestling team had five honorees and Bob Groseth's men's swimming and diving team had four representatives. The women's basketball squad had three Academic All-Big Ten representatives and Kevin O'Neill's men's basketball team had two honorees.
Student-athletes must be a letterwinner and in at least their second year at NU while carrying a minimum 3.0 grade point average to be named Academic All-Big Ten. Here is the complete list of NU honorees:
