Wrestlers Tie Central Michigan, 15-15

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern wrestling team tied Central Michigan, 15-15, Sunday afternoon in Mount Pleasant. The Wildcats and the Chippewas split the 10 matches evenly, winning five apiece by decision.
NU gained the tie in dramatic fashion, as John Giacche defeated CMU's Hordan Webster 4-2 in overtime in the day's final match at 133 pounds. In addition, Tom Ciezki was a narrow one-point winner over Phil Baroni (8-7) at 184 pounds.
Scott Schatzman and Matt Huebner scored impressive wins to lead the 'Cats. Schatzman defeated All-American Chris Marshall of CMU at the 141-pound level, 6-1, while Huebner beat All-American Chris Vike at the 197-pound level, 3-1. Drew Pariano was the other Northwestern winner, at 157 pounds (7-2 over Russell Clark).
Northwestern is off until the Midlands Millennium Tournament at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The two-day event will run morning and afternoon sessions on December 29 and 30.
